The hsd planning team is working with Watford Borough Council to assist with the relocation and redevelopment of Watford Museum and its associated Heritage Service. Consultation and audience dialogue is integral to the development work for the Museum’s National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) application. hsd have been undertaking engagement sessions with a range of different user groups, including, most recently, primary school children from the Borough.
Our heritage consultants Katie Pennington and Lucy Asbridge have worked with Lanchester Primary School and Central Primary School delivering interactive workshops with children aged 5-11 to test the emerging creative ideas for the new Museum.

This initiative is the start of an ongoing relationship between the Museum Service and the schools, who will continue to be involved in the project as the Museum design evolves. Teachers and pupils will also test a range of educational activities that will be delivered within the Museum once it reopens to the public.
Consultation with communities and stakeholders is central to our collaborative working approach and a key driving force for our projects. To date, 130 children have been engaged with the Watford Museum project and we look forward to meeting with other people around Watford.
