Merry Christmas
from hsd

As Christmas is nearly upon us we wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. At hsd we’ve had a fruitful 2017 and have a number of new projects that we are looking forward to starting in the New Year.

2017 got off to a great start with various hsd-designed exhibitions being unveiled – The Postal Museum and Mail Rail in London, Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Centre in the US and the Ancient Egypt Gallery at the World Museum in Liverpool.  Later in the year saw exhibition launches for another major new gallery at the National Museum of American History (Smithsonian), American Democracy.

We’ve been honoured to speak at a number of sector conferences including the Alliance of American Museums Annual Conference, the National Council on Public History, the Society for Experiential Graphic Designs and the World Design Summit, on sessions covering our projects, accessibility and our role as designers in an ever-changing digital world.  Attendance at events on text writing and the future of museum audiences brought further opportunities to broaden our skills and contribute to live sector debate.

This year we’ve also been delighted to strengthen our local partnerships.  We sponsored De Montfort University’s Graduate Show for the third year running, and have worked with Leicester University’s Museum Studies on a forthcoming Museum Design publication.  In October we participated in the Leicester Business Festival.

Looking forward to 2018, we are eagerly awaiting the opening of the new Museum under the Gateway Arch in St. Louis and the Middle East Gallery at The Penn Museum (University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology).

So, to all our clients and sector partners, the hsd team wishes you a Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year!
