Sharjah Heritage Development

hsd were honoured to work with His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, over an 18-year period to conceptualise, design and deliver a series of cultural, natural history and heritage attractions.

Projects included the Natural History Museum, Arabian Wildlife Centre, Sharjah Centre for Gulf Studies, Sharjah Aquarium, Botanical Museum, Islamic Museum of Culture and Arts, Maritime Museum and the Heritage Trail. For most schemes, our input spanned from initial project scoping through to full design development and project implementation – providing a ‘turnkey’ solution.

Our projects in Sharjah have received acclaim for breaking new ground in the presentation of the cultural, historical and natural heritage of the region. They remain the pre-eminent museum and visitor attraction developments in the United Arab Emirates, and have been recognised as a major influence in the decision to appoint Sharjah as ‘The Cultural Capital of the Arab World’ by UNESCO.
